About DFM
We build the operating record, not the paperwork around it
Facility platforms are specified by the people who read the reports and used by the people doing the work. When those two are not the same product, the reports stop describing the estate. That gap is the problem we exist to close.
The problem we set out to fix
Facility teams perform an enormous amount of work that leaves no usable trace. A technician checks eight items in a plant room, corrects one, and the record is a tick on a form in a cabinet. Two quarters later an owner, an auditor or an insurer asks what was done, and the honest answer is that nobody can produce it.
This is not a discipline problem. It is a design problem. Any system that asks a technician to write their work up afterwards is asking for the one thing that will not survive a busy Friday, and the resulting reporting describes data entry rather than the estate.
DFM captures the work as it is performed: the procedure runs at the asset, the evidence is required at the step that needs it, the unit is scanned rather than typed, and the record is complete the moment the last check is answered. Demonstrating performance stops being a separate project.
What we believe
Six things that shape every decision
Data quality is a design outcome
A platform the field works around produces reporting nobody can defend. Adoption is not a nice-to-have on top of the product, it is the mechanism by which the numbers become true.
The field is where the work is
Plant rooms, basements and roof plant have no connectivity, and most facility work happens in them. Treating that as an exception is how systems end up capturing the easy half of the estate.
People must be able to record a failure
A technician who cannot record that a job was impossible will record something worse. Removing the incentive to falsify a closure does more for data quality than any validation rule.
No invented numbers
Every figure on this site is either a checkable fact about the software or a published industry benchmark named as one. We would rather lose a comparison than win it with a statistic nobody can trace.
Plain language, at both altitudes
Executives get the measures they are accountable for. Technicians get instructions a second-language reader can follow one-handed. Neither audience is served by our internal vocabulary.
Your data is portable
Full export and a documented API, with no exit fee. A vendor that can only keep customers by holding their data stops trying to earn the renewal.
How we work with customers
We build your procedures with you
The hard part of a rollout is never the software. It is that two hundred procedures live in people’s heads and nobody has documented them. We do that part with you, starting with the programme carrying the most risk rather than the one that is easiest to configure.
