Build software for people who work in buildings
Our users are janitors, building engineers, maintenance technicians and contractors. Most of them are not office workers, and almost none of them chose our software.
What that means for the work
Designing for somebody who did not choose your software and cannot easily complain about it is a specific discipline. It rules out most of the habits that software teams pick up: clever interfaces, jargon, features that demo well and fail in a basement.
It also means going to look. We spend time in plant rooms, on rounds and in loading docks, because you cannot design a checklist for a job you have only read about.
How we work
What you would be walking into
Small and direct
You will talk to customers in your first fortnight, whatever your role.
Field first
We test on real phones in real buildings, not only in a simulator.
Writing matters
Every screen is edited for plain language. We take that seriously enough to have a rulebook.
Honest by default
We would rather ship a smaller true thing than a bigger claim.
Open roles
Nothing is posted right now
We would rather say that than list roles we are not actually hiring for. If you build software, design interfaces, or have run facilities yourself and want to help fix this, write to us anyway. Tell us what you have built and what you would want to work on.
